John Najjar is as rare a find as his timber creations.
He hand rescues timber from iconic Australian locations and then hand selects pieces with his customers to create furniture and other pieces to their desired specifications. All the timber John uses is 100% recycled Australian timber.
Timber that may have become firewood is instead given new life and transformed into a long lasting, unique piece of furniture with a story behind it. In an age where we need to look after our environment, this is the perfect vehicle to create your dream piece as well as being eco-friendly.
John first started working with timber as a carpenter and then a builder.
He has always worked with his hands. In his previous career as a builder he was often asked to create pieces of furniture from old timber. Over time he realised he loved doing this more than building, and so has dedicated himself to the creation of striking and unique showpiece furniture.
He began by rescuing and collecting distressed timber from around Melbourne, and later from throughout Victoria and Australia. His business grew into the highly regarded Hammerwood Woodworx. Then in April 2009 John Najjar Furniture Forever was launched at an invitation only event to showcase his unique talents and vision.
John’s team is small in number but vast in experience.
Our team are dedicated and passionate about the work they do. John’s strength is his knowledge of timber and his ability to create your vision using his skills and years of experience.
